Apps are Awesome!

I actually do not have a fancy smart phone, my phone is text friendly and for the moment it works. Adrian won an itouch through a contest his sister entered him in. It does everything an iphone does except make phone calls. Adrian got a smart phone for work reasons so I automatically claimed the itouch as mine and have come to the quick conclusion I want a smart phone now. The apps on the phones and itouch are entertaining and AWESOME! I am limited with the itouch because I have to be able to log into a wifi system but with just a regular iphone I will not have to do that, I can log in anywhere. Aside from all the silly game apps I play, my favorite app right now is the instagram app. It takes photos that you take with your phone or downloaded on to your phone and adds different tones and layers and effects to them. Check em out............

Sunday Suggestions

Some Sunday suggestions:

Need to take a dessert to a potluck BBQ this summer? Try this dessert..it is a favorite in our household:
http://grandmasdesserts.blogspot.com/2010/04/banana-bars.html

Need a book suggestion for any younger readers that like Fantasy/Lord of the Rings type stuff. This book is well written and kept my kids attention:

I am getting older and along with age comes the dark circles under the eyes. This concealer is for under the eyes...it is great. A little dab goes a long ways and gives your eyes the lift they need:

I know zombies are not for everyone but this series ran a few episodes this winter on AMC and it was AWESOME! It is based off a graphic novel and they had huge ratings and they will be bringing it back this next season. The box set is on sale and if you see the reruns... take the time to watch them, I know I was impressed.

Deadly Sins and Biblical Plagues

All around the country around this time of year something begins to happen in all households that have school age children in their home. Sins and plagues infest these households!

Gluttony, Sloth, Wrath...3 of the deadly mortal sins are present in our home. They lay around till instructions are given to do something. They would prefer to play computer/Wii/PSP and watch satellite T.V. until their bodies morph into part of the couch. They hesitate and grumble when chores are allotted and they slink around and begrudgingly get their work done.....

The bickering is still at a minimal level but as the hot days begin to be more numerous and they are forced to be inside because of the heat, the wrath of boredom and proximity will rear its ugly head. It always begins as innocent poking and wrestling and soon it becomes a WWE main show. Someone will end up crying, everyone will get sent to their room, and I will call my husband complaining about "HIS" incorrigible children.

They are home and because they are home they feel that it is okay to feast on the bounties that are presented on the alter I call my refrigerator . It is not okay to wipe out a box of Cheez-its and a bag of grapes and a gallon of lemonade in a single setting. I know I offer a lot of healthy choices but they are no longer healthy when ingested all at once.

Last but not least these children bring other children with them in the summer, I have nicknamed them "Locusts". They come into my home and leave destruction in their wake. They participate in the deadly sins and encourage sloth and gluttony. They come and go from house to house depending on who has the best snacks and electronic entertainment and leave baron cupboards and drained psp batteries in their wake.

Deadly sins and biblical plagues have seeped into my home, please say a blessing for our family and I will say one for you in return....may we all survive this summer!

ABC's of ME!

What a busy few weeks and I think finally it will slow down a little, at least till the 4th of July and then the annual Reeves & Brand reunion commences. I love having my sister and family here for the 4th, we get very limited time together so I make the most of what little time we do have. Anyways I saw this for a blog post idea from a friend from school on her blog (Leeann, the world: through the eyes of Me)I would link the blog but I guess blogger is having issues, you can link it from my main page on my blog on blogs I follow. She got this idea from somewhere else so I thought I will do to because it was a cute idea. The ABC's of me................

Age: 35, soon to be 36 and really okay with approaching my 40's. Age is nothing to hide as far as I am concerned.

Bed Size: King, I will NEVER go back to a queen, NEVER! In fact if I had the room I would do a California King. I will admit I am not a cuddler when I sleep, I need my space.

Chore you hate: Yardwork! I hate doing yardwork, I like being outside but I would much rather be going on a hike or something, not stooped over picking weeds.

Day: I love Fridays because it is usually date night for me and the hubby and it also means I have two more days of weekend left.

Essential start to your day: Morning shower, once I have had my shower I am awake and ready to get the day rolling.

Favorite color: Well by my choice in clothes colors you would think black but I really do love the color red.

Gold or Silver: I never wear gold, I don't mind gold, I just love silver more.

Height: 5'6", I was not blessed with height but I can say I am taller than my mom and sister.

Instrument: Nope don't play anything, wish I did.

Job title: Mom/Student and those two things keep me borderline psychotic, especially when it is finals time.

Kids: Twin eleven year olds and a four year old that is as much work as triplets, and they are all girls...oh what emotional house we live in.

Live: ......in the present and not in the past.

Mom's name: Candace..but she goes by Candy. True story, when I met my husband we got talking about names and he informed me he would never name his daughter Candy because he said it sounded like a stripper name, he didn't know my mom's name was Candy, I still tease him about it today.

Nicknames: Mikey

Overnight stays at the hospital: Mandatory bedrest for the twins, twins birth, complications from an epidural, Kenzies birth....and overnight stays not as a patient but for things having to do with the twins.

Pet Peeves: Judgemental people, uptight people, people who drive in left hand lane going slow, rude people, when clothes are dropped beside the hamper instead of inside the hamper, dishes left out for me to put away, and last but not least...when I seem to be the only one in the house that can take out the garbage...I put those last three pet peeves in, in case anyone in family reads this blog post.

Quote from a movie: "I don't want to talk to you anymore, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries."~ Monty Python Holy Grail.

Right or Left handed: right

Siblings: One older sister

Time I wake up: Sometime between 7:30 and 8...I love nights..I am not a morning person.

Underwear: ......yup, I have some on.....

Veggie you hate: Brussel Sprouts and Lima Beans

What makes you run late: Usually the kids but I am usually on time...I need to add people who are always late on my pet peeve list.

Xrays: chest xrays. MRI's, CAT scans for various things.

Yummy food you make: I make lots of yummy stuff, I love to cook and bake and by the looks of my figure I love to eat it too!

Zoo: Love the zoo, love animals....love the elephants, monkeys, bears, tigers...all of them!

Well there ya go...the ABC's of me!
